The Colorado Alpha chapter of Alpha Sigma Mu at the Colorado School of Mines inducted a class of 17 undergraduate, 4 graduate, and 2 professional members on May 1, 2018. President Joe Newkirk from Missouri University of Science and Technology attended and presented the membership certificates, honor cords and pins to the new members.

Two graduating seniors, Alec Saville and John Copley, who will be continuing at Mines as graduate students, and a rising Senior, Melissa Dangler, are serving as executive committee for the chapter. The reinvigorated chapter has plans to grow membership and student activities over the next year to create an organization that provides undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to be active in the materials field and engage in leadership and outreach to the benefit of the profession and their career paths.
