Alpha Sigma Mu Vice President and WPI Chapter Faculty Advisor Professor Diana Lados admires a cake that was baked for the initiation ceremony at WPI.
The Colorado Alpha chapter of Alpha Sigma Mu at the Colorado School of Mines inducted a class of 17 undergraduate, 4 graduate, and 2 professional members on May 1, 2018. President Joe Newkirk from Missouri University of Science and Technology attended and presented the membership certificates, honor cords and pins to the new members.
The University of Connecticut held their annual Banquet and Initiation Ceremony in Storrs, CT on May 3.
The Missouri University of Science and Technology held their Annual Banquet and Induction Ceremony in Rolla, MO on April 15. Initiates manufacture their own Alpha Sigma Mu Plaque, and Mikaela Weiseman won a gift card for having the nicest one.
Alpha Sigma Mu held the usual Annual Meeting activities at the Materials Science and Technology conference in Pittsburgh in October 2017. The Board of Trustees meeting occurred on Sunday October 8, 2017, and the Alpha Sigma Mu lecture and awards occurred on Monday, along with a social reception Monday evening. Due to the tireless efforts of Ash Khare and Professor Pradeep Goyal (IIT-Bombay), Alpha Sigma Mu officially established the first chapter in India! Below is a photo of the Charter being presented to the leadership team in Bombay.
The Russia – Alpha Chapter was chartered at the St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University in May 2014. Professor Alexander Kazakov (6th from left) leads the Chapter. Five faculty member and 7 students were inducted a the ceremony, which was attended by Vice President George Vander Voort (5th from left).
